About Us:
At this time, we have been serving the greater Roanoke Valley for over 80 years. H.C. Baker Sales Co. was incorporated in 1939 and located at 19 Franklin Rd SW in beautiful downtown Roanoke from the time of incorporation until January of 2017. The current owner Alan Sowder has been with the company since 1981 and still runs the day to day operation with his son Chris. In October 2007, Alan and Chris decided to open a second location of the store inside of Tanglewood Mall and picked a new name for this second store which was Star City Batteries. After 78 years downtown and over 9 years in Tanglewood Mall we decided to move the two stores back under one roof at our current location in early 2017. We finally have our very own parking lot and we are only seconds off of US-220 in southwest Roanoke City for customer convenience.
